Delivery
How It Works
All wines are stored professionally in bond at London City Bond. When you place an order, we release your wines from bonded storage, pay the applicable UK excise duty and VAT on your behalf, and arrange insured delivery to your door.
Prices shown on the website are ex-duty and ex-VAT. The full cost including duty, VAT, and delivery is calculated at checkout based on your delivery postcode and the wines in your order.
Delivery Zones & Charges
Delivery charges vary by destination. All deliveries are made via insured, specialist wine courier within mainland UK.

Prices shown are ex-VAT for a single case. Multi-case orders are charged at scaled rates — the exact delivery cost is calculated at checkout based on your postcode and order size. Northern Ireland deliveries incur an additional £50 surcharge per consignment.
UK Excise Duty & VAT
As wines are stored in bond, UK excise duty and VAT are payable upon release. These are calculated automatically at checkout. Current rates:

VAT at 20% is applied to the combined value of wine price plus duty. These rates are set by HMRC and may change — the checkout always uses the current applicable rates.
Delivery Process
Once you place an order:
1. We initiate release from London City Bond and pay duty and VAT
2. Your wines are inspected and professionally packed
3. Collection by specialist wine courier (insured in transit)
4. You receive a dispatch notification with tracking details
5. Delivery to your door — signature required
Important Notes
Age verification — a signature from someone aged 18 or over is required upon delivery. The courier will not leave wine unattended.
Temperature — during extreme weather, we may delay dispatch to protect your wine. We will notify you if this applies.
International delivery — we currently deliver within the UK only. For international enquiries, please contact us to discuss options.
Collection — if you prefer to collect from London City Bond, please contact us to arrange. No delivery charge applies.
