Delivery
How It Works
All wines are stored in bond at London City Bond. When you place an order, we release your wines from bonded storage, arrange duty and VAT payment for UK deliveries, and ship via DHL Express with full tracking. You receive a dispatch email with your DHL tracking link.
Prices shown on the website are ex-duty and ex-VAT. The full cost including duty, VAT, and shipping is calculated at checkout.
UK Delivery
All UK orders are shipped via DHL Express with full insurance and tracking. Free delivery on orders over £500.
Standard UK delivery from £9.54 + fuel surcharge, calculated by weight at checkout. Next-day delivery available for most mainland addresses.

International Delivery
We deliver worldwide through our specialist wine logistics partners. For international orders, please contact us or email orders@barrelheads.co.uk for a shipping quote.
International wines ship in bond. Import duties and local taxes are the responsibility of the recipient.
UK Excise Duty & VAT
As wines are stored in bond, UK excise duty and VAT are payable upon release. These are calculated automatically at checkout. Current rates:

VAT at 20% is applied to the combined value of wine price plus duty. These rates are set by HMRC and may change — the checkout always uses the current applicable rates.
For international deliveries, wine ships in bond. Import duties and local taxes are the responsibility of the recipient and may be collected on delivery (DAP — Delivered at Place).
Delivery Process
Once you place an order:
1. We release your wine from London City Bond
2. Your wine is inspected and professionally packed
3. DHL Express collects from our warehouse
4. You receive a dispatch email with your DHL tracking number
5. DHL delivers to your door — signature required for all wine deliveries
Important Notes
Age verification — a signature from someone aged 18 or over is required upon delivery. The courier will not leave wine unattended.
International orders — contact us for a shipping quote. Wine ships in bond; import duties and local taxes are the responsibility of the recipient.
Weather — during extreme conditions we may delay dispatch to protect your wine. We will notify you if this applies.
Collection — contact us to arrange collection from London City Bond. No delivery charge applies.
Packaging — all wines are shipped in protective packaging suitable for transit.
